Mygani’s signature Curls and Convo event was created to instill the value of self-confidence in women + girls of color regardless of their hair texture or skin complexion. The event includes a panel discussion, hairstyling demos, swag bags filled with hair products and a historical convo about what makes hair magical!

Below is a blog from a JIW attendee about her experience at the 10th Annual Curls and Convo.

Journey Into Womanhood attended the 10th Annual Curls and Convo on the 8th of February. Curls and Convo was an amazing eye-opening experience for many of the young women who attended. Personally, what I enjoyed most was that each speaker had a different hair journey. The purpose of this event is to show young women how to embrace their natural hair, whether it be locks, curls, silk presses and more. At the event, Felicia Wright shared her hair story, and what led her to create Curls and Convo. Then we heard the panel discussion about their views on hair and they answered questions from the audience. Within the presentation, we also saw hair demos as well as amazing swag bags at the end. This event is something every young woman should experience.
